The STARTS IoT Co-Creation Workshops are methods to innovate the processes of creation of values of the IoT European Large-Scale Pilots Projects (LSPs). The engagement of the full range of stakeholders of the LSPs, from the promoter - the European Commission (EC) - to the end users, including partners of the LSPs, Small and Medium Businesses (SMEs), startups and artists - makes of the Science Technology and the Arts (STARTS) initiative of the Digital Single Market (DSM) the overarching principle of those methods.

Values co-creation in IoT platforms ecosystems is addressing activities where customers, end users, application owners, and developers are involved as active participants in the design and development of personalized IoT applications, use cases, products, services, and experiences in IoT platforms ecosystems.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is at the origin of a new era of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) where consumers are no longer users. They are key in the creation of new processes, products and services by becoming active agents of innovation. They are for sure the assemblers of combinations of of-the-shelf available solutions, transforming themselves into producers - prosumers - and in this process they can become even enterpreneurs as providers of new services based on the IoT platforms made available by the LSPs.
